Here it is, the last installment of this series. The first super tutorial is complete. It has been such a success, I have decided to start another one soon. The subject is web design. In this lesson we will learn how to create the tiny paragraph text that you see so often. It is really simple.

We are about to embark
on a 6-part voyage that will teach you how to create the high-tech multilayer
backgrounds that make you go "wow". This is probably the most
requested tutorial that I have been asked to write. I put it off because
there are so many steps. At the end of part 6 you will have created the
BG you see on the right. Download it and use it for your screen wallpaper
if you desire.
At the end of this tutorial you will have completed the image to the right. This will be the base of the collage. Substitute a different image if you wish. At the end of 6 weeks you will be able to adapt these techniques and produce stunning backgrounds of your own. Because of the steps involved, these tutorials are going to take on a slightly faster pace than we are used to.
This series is
the first of our new "Super Tutorials"

Paragraph text

The first step is to copy some text, either open your word processor
or web browser and select a bunch of text, warning: you will need more
than you think.
Highlight it and press Ctrl/Cmd+C to copy the text to your clipboard.
Select the text tool in Photoshop and a tiny font like Arial 2.61
*Note: Sans serif fonts work best.
Sans=none Serif- the flicks on the font.

Click and drag the text tool to define the boundaries of the text box. The type will wrap at the edges of the box. This is a wonderful new feature of PS 6.
Now insert your type tool inside the text box and you will see the "I-beam"
Press Ctrl/Cmd+V to paste the text.
You can use the resize handles to change the shape of the box.
You could also change the the alignment of the paragraph to justified.
Click on the checkmark at the top right of the tool bar or click away and press enter to apply the text.
Change back to the move tool
And alt/option drag to duplicate the paragraph. Place them around your image.
Congratulations! Now you have finished the background! Use the file>Save for web option to save and optimize your background for faster loading.
There you have it!
The series on Backgrounds is now complete. Come to the forum and tell us what you think.
