This is our 11th annual challenge here at the CAFE. These contests are run in an effort to challenge the design juices. These contests are a bit different because the gauntlet thrown down is a real-world challenge, such as what a real client may request. The winners will walk away with prizes and respect from the design community. Everyone wins, because you get to show of the best of your talents and fill your portfolio at the same time.
The Challenge is...
Make a ficticious splash page/one sheet for a Photoshop themed TV Show! It can be a thriller, comedy, sitcom, action, adventure, mini-series, you name it. The twist? Its an app that plays on mobile devices (not a real app, just a mock-up image) and you have to use something from Photoshop (Such as Photoshop, or a tool, filter, beta name etc) as the title of the show. (Think of a TV Show that has a Photoshop Themed name. Such as "Pimp my Brush" etc...) Props for wit and cunning! Use any original artwork you desire. You may use any tools or platform you choose, but you must use Photoshop for at least 50% of the Image editing/design. Photos are acceptable, credit the photographer if your not the photographer.
Make it a splash screen at 600x450. Include the design only, don't mock up an iPad or iPhone, its just the poster artwork. You can include some buttons for additional features etc if you like, or you can choose to just present the design.
Don't be put off by the App theme. Just think of designing a poster at the dimensions given with the option of designing some navigational elements.

Example text: This is an entry I created quickly as a sample idea. Photo by myself and the model is Callan Mielnik. Enjoy!

Ok everyone, get ready for it. I have decided to extend the deadline for the contest for 1 wore week.!
The reason? There was a lot of confusion around the theme at the beginning. The app part really threw off a lot of people. I have clarified the rules since and it looks like everyone has got it figured out. But to be fair, I think its best to make up the lost time.
So the new Deadline will be Midnight, Monday Feb 7th 2011. Meaning that 11:59 on Monday, you have one minute left. (I always get asked to clarify that one)
Go to the Forums here (If you are new you will have to create a free account)
One more thing... no sigs on the entries please - You may comment on the Creation process this time. ie 100% Photoshop, or if you are the photographers, photo credit etc.
PS If you want to change your entry, you will need to delete it first and then post a new one
Good luck all!
