HELP...jpg to vector
Can I convert a psd or jpg file to a vector image in Photoshop CS5? I need to get a clean picture to digitize an embroidery design. I am sort of a
newbie and am not sure how to accomplish this task. Thanks!

As a general rule, the answer is no. PS is a raster (pixel based) program and you need a vector (curves-based) program such as Illustrator.
That being said, PS does have a few vector tools and if your psd consists only of these, (text, shapes, pen-tool paths, etc) than you could export the
paths to illustrator.
Also, Illustrator does have a Live Trace tool (Object>Live Trace) that you can try that will give you a wide range scale of success depending on
the complexity of your image.
For embroidery however the best thing to do is to recreate it in AI if you can.
Cheers, Frank
