Bloody sword girl

This is a picture I took a couple of years ago. Just edited it and added a little blood.

The unedited picture - (My lighting technique used to be so bad)

Nice work on the blood splatters. Pretty realistic!!

But to make it look a little more realistic, I think she needs some on her hands and arms.

Nice I like it Colin, but I also agree with Greg. I think it might add that little something extra to it.

my first impression of the blood is that it looks like someone held out the sword while someone dribbled blood along the blade... the pattern of the spread of blood needs to not be so evenly distributed across the blade.

Perhaps there needs to be a part of the sword that is more or less solid blood, to make it look like it was used to stab or cut someone, with some blood dribbles falling in the direction away from where the wound was created on the sword to simulate the blood spray from the wound that was created by the sword upon impact? Sorry, I have watched a lot of slasher flicks growing up :lol

Beyond that, you succeeded in making it look like blood and making blend with the image great.

There is a good tutorial for creating wet spots. At the end of the tutorial the color is changed to red to give the appearance of blood. It is shown on money. I have to agree with the above posts, it would be nice to see more blood, and some larger spray patterns. However, the effect works and it looks good.

:cheers

Interesting (and useful) comment Jim. What was it about it that didn't look like blood to you?

I think like mentioned earlier, the distribution doesn't look right and there is too much of the girls reflection on the bloody sword. Just my opinion and most people just ignore me.:lol

Colin, another point is that the sword is too straight on the pic and can't be identified as a sword. It should point upwards or downwards to give it dimension.:cheers
Your friend
Jim
p.s. If you want to be technical, your angle of repose is all wrong. Ckeck it up in google or contact me back and I will explain.
