Ciara - Senior Portraits

Hello fello cafe-ers (Im in a good mood today)

Meet Ciara, my best friends sister that I have know since she was a baby (literally)

7. http://www.thornewashington.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/comp.jpg (she would kill me had she known i posted this :lol)

Anyway, this shoot was great fun. I know we always say stuff like this but I really did have a ball. And she AND HER MOM laughed at all my lame photography jokes. That always makes the shoot that much better and not awkward.

Anyway (again), what do you love? hate? or dont care about? Let me know so I can grow and do betta next time fo sho

Well I know what you DO care about! The lighting was a single (well dual) flashes into a single shoot through 45" umbrella placed strategically around my model. Some of you may recognize the bridge from my fall photo I posted a couple of days ago.

The dog was an innocent bystander that the mom asked the walkers if we could use. Name was Barkly, weighed about as much as I do (and more than Ciara I would bet) and is under 2 years old.

If you didn't notice it from above C&C welcome and appreciated. Her and family loved them yet didn't order a single print... hmm, maybe waiting for free copies or they lied about liking them

Very pretty girl.

#6 gets my vote as the best of the lot, without a doubt.

thanks guys, I about forgøt about this thread!

Great followup news (half-way at least!)

After including Barkley in the set I gave the owners a card so they could see the photos. They emailed me a couple days back and asked for the ones of the dog saying they loved my work and are very interested in booking me once we get some snow on the ground to shoot them and their dog! Also said they will be passing me on to all of their friends .

Moral of the story: always talk to people and be friendly. They saw the bit in my blog telling them to email me for some shots of just the dog I took.

I like the photos and i think they came out very well. But one photo is the worst I have ever seen coming from you!!!:(

The photo with the dog. I think you killed the beautiful woman next to the dog.... Total waste of the photo. To bad.....

Yes the dog posses great and all but you cut the woman in half! Shame on you.

Sorry had to say that....:(

haha thanks hermie - this was an attempt at one of those photos where you only show the feet or whatever and you cut the person out. I guess I missed it. Oh well, will try it again during saturdays engagement session :roll

Stunning shots Thorne! Brilliant in fact.

No.6 is the winner for me. Looks straight out of a fashion magazine.

Great shots! #2 does look like a shot from a magazine-love the angles and depth. Lighting looks natural-very nice!
