I like it, it is a little rough. The blood could look a little more real. Other than that it is a great piece.
How long have you been using Photoshop?

Wow...after 2 months I was still scrawling stick figures!
2 things that immediately spring to mind when I look at it are that the stick looks a little flat (if you used a bevel, you might want to try layer
styles instead...inner shadow) & the other thing is that blade needs to be tied a little more securely to the handle or it's gonna end in
tears when you swing it!
Fantastic though, considering you're so new to PS!

No! I think the rope itself looks good...just a bit dangerously loose...although, I suppose axes are meant to be dangerous!

your work looks fine m8 - i still like to look back at my early photoshop work i have on file - i have improved a lot through time learning new stuff
but i still like to see how i've progressed.
regarding the axe, what you could do is a 2nd one and try drawing it to look like the blade goes through the handle rather than tied on - this wouldnt
be replacing your original idea, it is just drawing more options
keep at it m8 - i look forward to seeing your new works

for the blood how about making it a darker red and putting more highlight areas and shading and maybe subtle reflections to give it a bit more liquid
look - something kind of along the lines of those aqua button sort of reflections but distorted to follow the shape of the blood splash - at the
moment the blood looks a bit like red chalk.
i assure you i'm not just here to criticise, i like to make helpful suggestions to others just like i appreciate the same done to help me.
i think your artwork is great and i look forward to your future works

i was looking through my artwork files yesterday and by chance came across a drawing i did of 2 chainlink fence panels covered in blood splatter.

the red shade for the blood is #AFOOOO - i used a brush to paint the splatter over the metal then set the blood layer to overlay so that it only shows
on the metal and also shows the shine and texture of the metal through the blood. the metal layer has plastic wrap applied to it to create the
shine.
hope this helps
